Leon, the beautiful Old English Sheepdog is gracing the offices of Shinerocks Estate Agents in Purley and has recently been promoted to the illustrious title of Temporary Operations Manager.
Despite being named after the professional assassin played by Jean Reno in the 1994 film “Leon” with Natalie Portman, and before you picture scenes from "The Godfather" with a sheepdog in a tiny fedora, hold your horses (or chew toys, as the case may be). Leon is more like Scooby-Doo than a professional hitman!
In fact, his pedigree is more suited to the world of dog shows than boardrooms. His parents were Crufts champions, with his mum even holding the prestigious title of the Dulux Dog – you know, the one who dramatically shakes out her luxurious coat in the TV commercials!
Leon, however, had different dreams. While initially trained with an eye on Crufts glory, his heart wasn't quite in the kibble for championship life.
Fate (and perhaps a love for belly rubs) intervened, leading him to the welcoming doors of Shinerocks. Here, for the past eight years, Leon has been a valued member of the team.
You might say estate agency is in his blood (though, to be honest, napping on the sofa and "watering" the plants might be a more accurate description of his passions).
But Leon's got more going for him than just an impressive snooze game. He possesses a unique set of "transferable skills" honed over his years at Shinerocks.
There's his dedication to physical fitness – you'll often find him joining Jo for yoga sessions, offering enthusiastic (and slightly clumsy) downward dog poses. Then there's his unwavering enthusiasm for greeting visitors with a hospitable woof, ensuring everyone feels welcome.
So, when the opportunity arose to promote Leon to Temporary Operations Manager, it was without hesitation. Now, his days are filled with assisting Paul and Jo in all aspects of sales and the day-to-day running of the agency.
We're talking about important tasks like keeping everyone's spirits high (because who can resist those soulful sheepdog eyes), supervising important belly rub distribution schedules, and offering expert (though mostly silent) advice during meetings.
Leon's story is a heart-warming reminder that success can come in all shapes and sizes, even if those shapes occasionally leave paw prints on the freshly mopped floor!
He's a testament to the power of following your dreams, even if those dreams involve napping in sunbeams and chasing squirrels in the park.
